Welcome back in 2020! We are definitely excited to start this new decade! We hope that it will bring a lot of growth, interesting experiments, and insights into the education field. We are thrilled to be a part of it! 😊
Today we want to present a sneak peek of improvements that are coming to Explain Everything in the near future!
But before we start, there is one important thing that needs to be said. We would like to thank all of you who continue to actively help us improve Explain Everything. None of this would have been possible without your engagement and constructive feedback. 💚
Thank you for supporting us along the way!
Simplified Zoom and Camera Controls
Screen recording, creating animations, and making instant magic were the key features of Explain Everything from the very beginning. And now, we’re making recording easier to use, so you can be even more productive.
The new Camera Control button is going to be placed on the Control Bar, right next to the Record button. After selecting it, the camera frame will appear. You will then be able to drag the frame and control what part of the screen gets recorded. The pinch and reverse pinch gestures will control the camera’s zoom level.
New Collaboration Tools
Explain Everything provides enormous collaboration possibilities for the classroom or during meetings. New changes are coming to help you gain better control over your project when working with many people at the same time.
Collaboration interface update
We’re removing the avatars that used to appear during collaboration to get more of that precious space for content creation. You will be able to see the number of participants in the session as well as the entire list of collaborators in the collaboration menu instead.
New host experience and Follow Me mode
This feature is designed for teachers and presenters who want to take full control over the project during collaboration. With the Follow Me mode, you’ll be able to control the recording and your presentation without any interruption from other participants. This means that every single user will follow your perspective.
Move What You Touch
We know that controlling drawings in Explain Everything was unintuitive at times. We felt it had to be explained in detail to really dive into its power features. In the current version, switching to a different tool after drawing “closes the drawing” and makes it into a moveable object. We’re changing that.
In the new version, Explain Everything will automatically turn drawings into separate, movable objects when the space between the drawn lines is big enough. No more surprises with huge transparent objects that cover the entire screen!
Neat, so when can I expect this?
We don’t have a solid date yet but it’s in the near future. These aren’t the only changes so you can expect even more! Be sure to follow us on our Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram so you don’t miss the release announcement. We will be more than happy to hear your thoughts and feedback on the changes. Feel free to reach out to us through social media, or just say “Hi” via email.
