What’s in Explain Everything Advanced

The Advanced plan extends what is available in Explain Everything. It introduces higher limits, cloud storage, longer collaboration sessions, and Promethean engagement applications.

In this article you’ll learn what are the advantages of Explain Everything Advanced and how you can leverage them.

No limits on projects, slides, and video length

The most basic change you experience in Explain Everything Advanced is the removal of limits for projects, slides, and video duration. You can create any number of projects, and each one can have any number of slides. Recordings also follows the same approach and can be as long as you need them to be.

In practice, this means you can move from one project to another, extend a lesson across multiple slides, or continue recording without needing to adjust to time restrictions. Whether you are preparing a short explanation or a longer sequence of slides with narration, the same setup works in all circumstances.

Bigger cloud storage and longer collaborations

With the Advanced plan your Explain Drive cloud storage is increased to 7.5 GB. That’s 15 times more space than on the Free plan. Thanks to this storage, more of your content can be in one place and always available online across your devices.

The Advanced plan also doubles the Collaboration session time compared to Free plan. You can work with one other person in sessions that last up to 30 minutes.

Taken together, storage and collaboration form a consistent setup: you can save more projects in the cloud and also use them for one-on-one collaborations, presentations, quick syncs, lessons, and more.

Expanded creative and teaching toolset

The Advanced plan also unlocks additional creative and workflow features that expand how you create and manage your projects.

Here are the new tools and features you get when you upgrade:

• Drag a copy (All platforms) – turn any object or image into an endless stamp, creating infinite duplicates when dragged.
• Math Tools (Web and Android) – rulers, triangles, protractors, and compasses so you can measure and draw precise lines and shapes on the canvas.
• Split Whiteboard (Web and Android) – split your whiteboard into two parts so that two people can use it at the same time.
• Learning Check-in (iPad and Web) – get AI feedback on your or your student’s engagement and readiness for deep learning.
• Activities: Crossword, Memory, and Matching (iPad only) – create engaging interactive activities using the content in your project or pull it from web image libraries.
• Custom Clipart in the cloud (Web only) – add anything from the canvas to your custom Clipart gallery.
• Custom Templates in the cloud (Web only) – save project templates and build your own template library in the cloud.

Enabled Promethean engagement applications

With the Advanced plan, you can use a set of Promethean engagement applications directly in your projects.

These include:

• Spinner – randomly select items from a list
• Timer – track time with a timer, stopwatch, and clock
• Polling – create questions and gather student feedback

For instance, during a lesson or presentation, you can open Polling to collect responses, use the Spinner to randomly select a student, and set a Timer to track time of their activity. Engagement apps remain on your canvas as separate widgets you can move around and interact with during your lessons.

While Spinner and Timer are also available as free Promethean account apps, Polling is an exclusive Advanced plan feature. Access to full Promethean ActivSuite™

ActivSuite is a bundle of classroom applications designed to work both across devices and alongside Promethean ActivPanel displays. It is currently available on Windows, MacOS, Android, and ChromeOS.

Without a license ActivSuite features a set of core tools:

• Whiteboard
• Timer
• Spinner

With Explain Everything Advanced however, Promethean ActivSuite becomes an ultimate lesson delivery tool and unlocks the following apps:

• Explain Everything Advanced Whiteboard
• Annotate
• Polling
• Screen Share

This allows you to begin with ActivSuite tools such as the Timer or Spinner, then open Explain Everything from the same environment to work on a project or use Polling. All tools are accessible from a unified toolbar, and each works independently.
